The VIU Career Center is hosting the Spring 2011 Job Fair at the Waples Mill Campus on March 24, 2011. The event will feature many local organizations who will be available to meet with students, alumni, and guests regarding exciting internship and job opportunities! All attendees are encouraged to dress in business formal or business casual attire and to bring copies of their resumes and cover letters. Come to the Job Fair prepared to sell your skills & land the dream job you have been searching for!

VIU & University of Pristina Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Fairfax, Virginia: Virginia International University (VIU) and the University of Pristina, located in the Republic of Kosovo entered into a Memorandum of Understanding on February 1, 2011. The Memorandum is an agreement on educational and scholarly cooperation between the universities, as well as in research and other mutual interests.

The agreement between the two institutions of higher education opens the door for faculty exchange, student exchange, and equally important – the exchange of scholarly thoughts and ideas in the form of research, conferences, and more. Further, the memorandum opens the door to potential joint-ventures between the universities. VIU is excited about the opportunity to work with universities beyond our borders and to engage in the promotion of higher education alongside the University of Pristina.

Virginia International University is located in Fairfax, VA near Route 66 and Fair Oaks Mall. VIU offers residential and online undergraduate and graduate degrees and diploma and certificate programs in business administration and computer science, a four-level English as a Second Language program with TOEFL and TESOL preparation, and continuing professional education. Upcoming Event | VIU Picnic

Upcoming Event | 2010 FIFA World Cup!

VIU will be showing the 2010 World Cup at the Waples Mill Campus beginning on June 11th and ending July 11th. The viewing will take place in the Student Lounge. We would love to see all students come out and support their teams for the games. Wear the team colors!

Year End, Year Begins

We are right around the corner from yet another commencement ceremony at VIU. We are so proud of the students who have completed their degree programs and happy to see them make a name for themselves in the world, but at the same time so sad to see them go! Class of 2010-Congratulations! You make us proud!

Always Growing...

A LOT has been going on since we last posted! There are so many exciting developments at the University, and it is really fun to watch the way our institution is growing and developing! Here is a list of the major updates at VIU:

• Veterans Affairs--VIU has gained approval to offer educational benefits to Veterans of the US Armed Forces! Education benefits are available to veterans under several education benefit programs, such as the Post-9/11 GI Bill, the Montgomery GI Bill – Active Duty, and the Montgomery GI Bill – Selected Reserve and Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP). We are really excited about this initiative, and are happy to give back to those who serve our country!
• MBA Concentrations--We have opened two new concentrations for the MBA Program. We now offer a MBA in Human Resource Management, as well as an MBA in Accounting!
  
• 2010 Commencement Ceremony--We want to congratulate our hard-working graduates from the Summer 2009, Fall 2009, and Spring 2010 semesters! They will be recognized at the Commencement Ceremony on May 1, 2010 at Langley High School in McLean, VA
